IPS propulsion onboard the Filippetti Yacht Sport 55
The Sport 55 owner can choose between two engines configuration: one highly performing with MAN and Arneson couplings, and the other with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion. The Filippetti Yacht Shipyard has launched both of the proposed configurations.
Looking at data, the result in terms of performance is winning in both cases.
The configuration with Arneson Surface Drives (with 1,200 horsepower engines each) is certainly the emblem of the Shipyard’s sporting and performing vocation, aiming for 47 top speed knots and 40 cruising knots.
Likewise, the sport yacht with IPS has exceeded initial expectations. The official sea trials recorded a cruising speed of 32 knots and a maximum of 38 knots.
